The Director of FP&A and Business Intelligence will play a critical role in driving strategic financial planning and analysis initiatives while also overseeing the Business Intelligence team. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to enable informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Position Outcomes:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. This includes long-range financial planning, annual budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, trends, and variances to help senior leadership understand the company's financial health. Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external parties such as investors and creditors.

  • Resource Allocation Optimization: Optimize resource allocation by assessing investment opportunities, cost structures, and capital expenditures. Identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements to maximize profitability and return on investment.

  • Decision Support: Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management by providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes. This may involve scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and risk assessment to evaluate potential outcomes and inform strategic choices.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, operations, and HR to align financial goals with overall business objectives. Facilitate communication and coordination between finance and other functions to ensure a unified approach to achieving organizational goals.

  • Performance Measurement and KPI Tracking: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track progress against financial and operational targets. Continuously monitor and evaluate performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and drive accountability across the organization.

  • Forecast Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial forecasts to support effective decision-making and resource planning. Implement robust forecasting processes and methodologies to minimize errors and provide reliable financial projections.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support to help team members grow and develop their skills in financial analysis and strategic planning.

Key Position Deliverables:

Responsibilities:

  • Function as a thought leader over the development, data governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

  • Act as a consultative business partner to key stakeholders across the organization, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive better business performance

  • Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A and BI team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and driving business results

  • Drive operational excellence by building scalable and repeatable FP&A processes to ensure consistency in approach and outcomes across the organization

  • Develop KPI measurements, leverage analytics, and implement data-drvien models to drive business opportunities, investments, and operational efficiencies.

  • Monitor financial performance against key metrics, identify trends, and proactively address areas of concern.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Business Intelligence team, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality analytics and actionable insights.

  • Define and implement BI strategies, methodologies, and best practices to optimize data collection, analysis, and reporting processes across all functions of the organization.

  • Establish clear performance goals and expectations, and regularly assess team performance against objectives.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other departments to align financial and business intelligence initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive business strategy and improve performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, business intelligence, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Proven ability to lead organizations through change and in maturing business processes and capabilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and leveraging technology to enhance FP&A and BI capabilities.

  • Advanced proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Menlo Security, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $165,000- $275,000

In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is Menlo Security’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become Menlo Security shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
