We also believe our jobs should excite us, our teammates should support us and our bosses should inspire us. We empower our people to bring big ideas and tiny egos, landing us on Outside Magazine’s list of “Best Places to Work '' and Built In’s “100 Best Remote-First Places to Work”.

TeamSnap is seeking a technical and people-centric Director of Platform Engineering who will lead teams focused on Data Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and DevOps/Developer Experience. • Participate in essential technical and product discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to determine project deliverables and define the development roadmap

  • Take ownership of continuous improvement in the team's development process, coding, architecture, and overall performance while also ensuring alignment with the engineering department's overall standards and processes

  • Planning and executing strategies for completing projects. This includes facilitating agile ceremonies, defining and keeping a pulse on health metrics for your team(s), and reporting progress broadly.

  • Empowers engineers to progress the architecture and identify critical areas to pay down tech debt. Provides guidance and feedback on Technical Key Initiatives.

  • Develop and socialize resourcing plans that support the engineering leaders in making project resourcing and overall team scaling and evolution decisions

  • Ensure your engineers adhere to development standards and best practices

  • Rally the team to feel fired up and inspired! You’ll empower the team to succeed with code, tooling, processes, information, and help from others. You’ll also consistently and systemically help teammates do their best work.

  • Drive shared ownership of quality through testing, operational practices, and playbooks for owned scope areas while also contributing to engineering-wide goals, priorities, and improvements.

  • Contribute to engineering-wide goals, priorities, and improvements.

What Will Set You Up for Success:

  • 5+ years of experience managing software engineers of all levels while serving as a role model for an inclusive engineering culture

  • 5+ years of experience managing managers

  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools and a track record of using insights to drive

  • Proficiency in a widely-used programming language

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, or similar)

  • Experience working across cross-functional and end-user-facing teams to foster a culture of priority setting and urgency in alignment with organizational strategy.

Got cold feet? If you’re thinking you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. We’re all humans with special talents that go beyond what’s listed here.

Compensation

We’re committed to equitable compensation for all TeamSnappers. The minimum starting point for this role is $225,250 inclusive of base and bonus, with comp updated based on multiple factors. Our comp is highly competitive in our space and we adjust overall comp based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
