Position Overview

We are building a cutting-edge Platform that will transform the way our customers identify, protect and govern their data. This will revolutionize how customers secure their data by placing identity at the core – providing unparalleled visibility and control.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Engineering to lead and scale the engineering teams responsible for Netwrix Privilege Secure. Netwrix Privilege Secure is a leading solution for securing privileged accounts, enforcing least-privilege policies, and providing robust visibility into privileged activity across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. Our mission is to deliver secure, scalable, and easy-to-use privileged access management (PAM) capabilities that reduce risk, simplify compliance, and improve operational efficiency. This role will drive technical strategy, team execution, and product delivery in a high-growth cybersecurity environment, with a sharp focus identity protection, and secure enterprise integration.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and grow engineering teams focused on the Privilege Secure product line, including just-in-time access, session management, and privileged activity monitoring.

  • Partner with Product Management, Security Research, and Customer Success to define technical vision, product strategy, and roadmap execution.

  • Translate business and security requirements into scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

  • Drive innovation that ensures Privilege Secure remains competitive and aligned with evolving cybersecurity best practices.

Engineering Execution

  • Oversee design, architecture, and delivery of robust, secure, and performant PAM solutions across hybrid and cloud-native environments.

  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, code quality, observability, and system reliability.

  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.

  • Partner with Security Research and Architecture teams to stay ahead of evolving privileged threat vectors.

Team Management

  • Mentor and empower engineering managers and technical leads; promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent with a focus on diversity, collaboration, and growth.

  • Establish and measure key engineering KPIs and operational metrics.

Customer and Security Focus

  • Engage directly with enterprise customers and solution architects to understand PAM adoption challenges and requirements.

  • Ensure product solutions align with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS), and integrate with modern identity ecosystems (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Ping, CyberArk).

  • Deliver seamless interoperability with SIEM, SOAR, and ITSM platforms to extend security value.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering with at least 3+ years in an engineering leadership/director role.

  • Proven experience in Privileged Access Management, Identity Security, or related domains.

  • Demonstrated success in leading teams that deliver enterprise-scale SaaS or hybrid security solutions.

  • Strong technical background in backend systems, cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and cybersecurity tools.

  • Deep understanding of PAM capabilities (e.g., least privilege, ZSP, session monitoring, credential vaulting).

  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with privileged session recording, risk-based access, and just-in-time privilege elevation.

  • Familiarity with modern authentication standards (e.g., FIDO2, passwordless, adaptive MFA).

  • Hands-on experience with languages like Go, Java, Python or .NET and modern DevOps practices.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth cybersecurity or identity startup is a plus.
