Building Poppy & Peonies has been a wild adventure. The journey began when my daughter Poppy was born and my accessories no longer worked with my new life as a mom, I needed bags with pockets and organization that looked cool and had functionality. I couldn’t find it, so I decided to create it, and in 2015 Poppy & Peonies was born.
We’ve come a long way in five years – from filling orders in my basement to appearing on Dragons’ Den, and now, expanding into new product categories and collaborating with some exciting influencers and brands. I’d be lying if I said it’s been nothing but smooth sailing, but thanks to our incredible community, we’ve never felt more loved and supported!
We believe in our responsibility to care for our environment and we are passionate about preserving the health and welfare of our planet, and the animals that live on it. All of our bags are made from high-quality vegan leather, and our entire product line is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved. We ship our products plastic-free and we use a combination of recycled, compostable, and biodegradable materials to mitigate shipping waste, and we are constantly looking for new ways to make our products and supply chain more sustainable to reduce our carbon footprint.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Brand & Social, a creative leader with the strategic expertise and social savvy to shape how Poppy & Peonies connects with the world. This role is ideal for a marketing professional who thrives on building campaigns that resonate deeply with communities, has an impeccable eye for creative detail, and knows how to bring brand stories to life across every channel.
As Director of Brand & Social, you will drive innovation across social media, influencer partnerships, email, PR, and affiliate initiatives, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our brand’s voice and vision. Leading a high-performing team and collaborating cross-functionally, you will play a pivotal role in growing and inspiring the Poppy & Peonies community through impactful storytelling and unforgettable content.
The Opportunity
Campaign Creation & Execution: Oversee, coordinate, and produce all marketing campaigns across influencer, social and email, and collaborate with external agency on PR & Affiliate needs.
Bring innovative social and community strategies into all existing campaigns and launches.
Build all social campaign decks, ensuring community connection is at the forefront of all launches.
Write extensive briefs including copy for key campaigns, emails, IG stories, captions, website messaging etc.
Identify product priorities to manage and organize campaign launches
Manage launch plans and social marketing calendars in Asana
Creative Direction & Content Production: Lead the creative direction for all social-centric assets.
Plan and execute photo and video content that capture the brand vision
Attend and lead monthly lifestyle photo and video content productions (travel generally required)
Review, select, and approve campaign photos, videos, reels, ads, emails, and social assets
Manage pack-ups, image selections for PDP/PLP pages, and homepage features
Strategic Leadership & Brand Growth: Develop and execute marketing strategies that align with Poppy & Peonies’ brand vision and growth objectives.
Support in enhancing and maintaining the brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and storytelling across all channels.
Support with managing strategic partnerships, collaborations, and influencer/affiliate/UGC programs to elevate brand visibility and growth.
Influencer & Social Strategy: Source and manage influencer programs and content for launches
Develop and execute social media strategy to drive growth and engagement
Identify and sort social content in order of performance to optimize launches
Manage the ideation through execution of all social centric content, ensuring innovation, virality, and community engagement
Team Leadership & Collaboration: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing and social team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Provide clear direction, feedback, and professional development opportunities to support team growth and performance.
Collaborate closely with Creative and E-commerce teams ensuring cohesion and overall brand direction is optimized.
Operations & Budget Management: Manage the Social + Influencer budgets, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI and campaign impact.
Ensure efficient processes are in place for content production, campaign management, and cross-team collaboration.

You possess a deep understanding of digital marketing, social platforms, influencer programs, and emerging marketing trends/technologies.
You are a collaborative partner who thrives in cross-functional environments, working closely with Creative, Ecommerce, and external agencies.
You have a track record of building, mentoring, and leading successful marketing and social teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and high performance.

We’re seeking an exceptional candidate based in Canada or the US who values the flexibility of remote work while embracing the excitement of in-person experiences.
There will be occasional domestic and/or international travel for photoshoots, events, and team retreats.
Salary and Total Rewards
Annual Salary ranges from $140,000-$160,000
Performance bonus
3 weeks of paid vacation per year
5 additional flex days
Comprehensive flex benefits plan
$250 annual period & menstrual budget
$1,000 annual allowance towards Poppy & Peonies product
$400 home office setup allowance
