Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

The Director, Corporate Development & Investor Relations is a new high-impact role reporting to Eventbrite’s Chief Financial Officer. This role will serve as a trusted advisor and force multiplier for the CFO, leading initiatives across Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Strategy. In addition to working day to day with the CFO, this position will engage with the executive leadership team, investors and equity research analysts, and will partner closely with other members of the Finance leadership team, including the VP of FP&A, VP Corporate Controller, VP Chief Risk Officer, Senior Director of Global Treasury, and Director of Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

Investor Relations

  • Own the quarterly earnings process, including messaging, earnings call preparation, investor presentations, and Q&A preparation for CEO and CFO.

  • Shape the company’s investor relations narrative, ensuring a compelling, data-driven story for investors and analysts.

  • Develop materials for investor conferences, roadshows, and board meetings, supporting the CEO and CFO in external engagements.

  • Track investor sentiment, competitor earnings, and market trends to inform investor messaging and corporate strategy.

  • Create a comprehensive strategy for expanding the investor base, including proactive targeting and selective outreach.

Complex Financial Modeling, Strategic Analytics & Competitive Intelligence

  • Perform complex financial modeling and scenario analysis to support executive decision-making.

  • Develop robust analytical frameworks that provide financial and operational insights to drive business performance and optimize capital deployment.

  • Provide unbiased and comprehensive assessments of market and industry trends and serve as a source of truth for competitive intelligence.

Corporate Development

  • Source, evaluate, and execute M&A and investment opportunities, leading strategic assessments, valuation analysis, and due diligence.

  • Develop detailed financial models and scenario analyses to assess potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investments.

  • Support capital markets activities, including capital raising and shareholder return strategies.

Corporate Strategy & New Growth Initiatives

  • Working closely with the CFO and executive team to define growth priorities.

  • Identify and create business plans for new growth and monetization opportunities to accelerate revenue growth and gain market share.

  • Develop data-driven frameworks to assess return on investment (ROI) and optimizing resource allocation.

  • Evaluate and monetize the company’s vast and valuable data assets, identifying strategic ways to unlock additional business value.

 

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of total work experience, including 4+ years of investment banking and/or equity research experience at a top-tier firm and 2+ years of investor relations experience.

  • Additional experience in Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Strategic Finance and/or Private Equity preferred. 

  • Deep understanding of complex financial modeling, valuation, corporate finance and capital markets.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to structure complex problems and drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex financial analysis clearly and crisply for executive audiences and across business units.

  • Significant experience engaging directly with senior executives and external stakeholders (partners, investors, etc.).

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
