We’re looking for a strategic, commercially minded Director of Insight & Consultancy to help us build and scale our U.S. insight practice by delivering best-in-class measurement, evaluation, and strategic advice to the world’s top enterprise brands.

As our first Director of Insight & Consultancy, your mission will be to own the delivery and growth of our insight consultancy services in the US. You’ll lead a high-performing team, shape new offerings, partner cross-functionally, and work closely with clients to turn data into actionable recommendations. This is a great opportunity for someone energized by building a practice, leading a team, and influencing strategic direction from day one.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the commercial growth of our insight services, including revenue forecasting, and upsell strategy and execution

  • Own and deliver on insight revenue targets, through farming the Muck Rack client base and identifying new business insight opportunities

  • Define and refine methodologies, service tiers, and deliverables for client insights

  • Partner with Sales on RFPs, pitches, and client meetings to win and expand insight business

  • Act as executive sponsor on key insight accounts and lead delivery for enterprise clients, often presenting to senior comms people and the C-suite

  • Develop scalable tools and playbooks for insight delivery with Production and Product teams

  • Represent Muck Rack in client meetings, industry events, and thought leadership efforts

  • Build and lead Muck Rack’s U.S.-based insight & measurement consultancy team

How success will be measured in this role:

  • Revenue growth and client expansion within the Insight business unit

  • Client satisfaction and retention across enterprise insight accounts

  • Quality and impact of insight deliverables and methodologies

  • Effective team management and talent development

  • External visibility through thought leadership, panels, or industry contributions

If the details below describe you, you could be a great fit for this role:

  • 8+ years of experience in media intelligence, comms measurement, or PR analytics

  • Proven success leading client-facing insight or analytics teams

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience driving revenue or productizing services

  • Excellent communicator who can distill complex data into actionable client insights

  • Familiarity with measurement tools, industry frameworks, and competitor offerings

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a SaaS, startup, or agency environment

  • Passion for strategic communications, reputation management, and storytelling with data

Interview Overview

Here’s what you can expect from our process. We’ll keep you informed at every step and let you know if anything changes along the way.

  • Intro call with a member of our Talent Team

  • A video interview with the Hiring Manager

  • Skills assessment (3 hours max)

  • Peer interviews with future teammates

  • Final call(s) with executive team member(s)

Salary

In the US, the base salary for this role is between $150,000 and $175,000+, depending on skills and experience. Total compensation for this role consists of base salary, variable compensation, and equity.

We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
