Director - Enterprise Total Cost of Care
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this role is responsible for driving enterprise design and execution of Strive’s Total Cost of Care (TCOC) strategy—defining enterprise strategy through clinical workflow design, implementation, and driving operational results. This role, through their direct-report team of CoC vertical leads, will be critical in creating the playbook for regional operators to use to drive performance in Strive’s key clinical focus areas. This leader will identify, prioritize, and manage initiatives that reduce unnecessary medical expense, improve quality outcomes, and accelerate value-based care success.
The Day to Day
Identify top Total Cost of Care (TCOC) opportunities and evolve Strive’s core clinical programs using claims, utilization, and care management data.
Drive prioritization of initiatives for the Director’s direct reports. Each direct report will serve as a program lead for Strive’s core clinical programs. This leader will be accountable for performance across our clinical programs.
Partner with Regional Presidents, Regional Medical Directors, Clinical & Ops Directors, and regional TCOC roles to develop and drive cross-functional action plans and execution of TCOC priorities (e.g., high-cost claims intervention, SNF utilization, ED reduction, leakage reduction).
Monitor regional TCOC performance metrics and initiative tracking; evolve workflows as needed for improved outcomes across the enterprise.
Translate clinical and financial opportunities into operational initiatives.
Ensure regional adoption of enterprise TCOC tools, workflows, and playbooks.
Serve as thought partner to regional leaders on medical expense strategy and execution.
Contribute to enterprise-wide TCOC learning agenda, best practice sharing, and innovation pipeline.
Meet in person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities. Business travel may be required for opportunities to connect with stakeholders, serve patients, and attend Strive-sponsored team events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
8+ years in value-based care or population health environments (payer or provider).
5+ years leading Total Cost of Care, care transformation, or medical expense reduction programs.
Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms.
Ability to travel and be onsite to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years’ experience managing direct reports.
Experience in clinical program design or clinical background strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives.
Strong analytical acumen—ability to interpret claims/utilization data and guide decision-making.
Fluency in project management, initiative planning, and performance tracking with operational follow-through.
Financial literacy—understanding of medical cost drivers and VBC incentive structures.
