Title: Director, Clinical Evidence Strategy and Scientific Communications

Position Summary

The Director, Clinical Evidence Strategy and Scientific Communications will report to the Executive Director, Scientific Communications and will be responsible for designing and leading comprehensive evidence generation strategies to support the value, positioning, and lifecycle management of pipeline and marketed products. This individual leverages deep scientific expertise and advanced analytics to identify evidence gaps, develop clinical and real-world data solutions, and translate complex findings into impactful, scientifically rigorous communications for diverse stakeholders. The role collaborates across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, and other functions to ensure that integrated evidence informs both clinical practice and access decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated evidence generation plans (clinical research, real-world evidence, and HEOR) that address key data gaps and support strategic objectives across the product lifecycle.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of disease biology, patient needs, and treatment landscapes to design scientifically and clinically relevant studies.

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to develop and implement strategic publication plans, ensuring timely dissemination of evidence through peer-reviewed publications, congresses, and other scientific platforms.

  • Develop scientifically accurate and fair-balanced materials that communicate complex data to diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, payers, and policy makers.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., HEOR, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Regulatory) to prioritize and align evidence generation activities.

  • Provide scientific leadership and insight into external engagements, such as advisory boards, investigator meetings, and steering committees.

  • Critically evaluate and synthesize data from multiple sources, including clinical trials, observational studies, patient registries, and claims databases, to inform strategy and decision-making.

  • Author, review, and ensure quality and compliance of scientific documents, adhering to standards (e.g., GPP, ICMJE, ISMPP) and internal SOPs.

  • Monitor the evolving scientific and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for new evidence generation initiatives.

  • Ensure scientific integrity, ethical standards, and compliance in all evidence generation and communication activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant scientific experience OR Advanced degree (Ph.D., Sc.D., M.S., M.P.H.) in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in evidence generation, clinical research, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Background in glomerular disease, autoimmune disease, or nephrology is a plus.

  • Strong critical thinking and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence across functions in a matrixed environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Advanced scientific writing and communication skills tailored to varied stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with scientific writing tools and data management systems; ability to learn new platforms quickly.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range will align with internal equity.
