Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops software solutions by studying requirements and user needs; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, proposed design, and implementation.

  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by creating artifacts such as flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and industry practices such as CI/CD for development, test, and production environments.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in operations by conducting systems analysis; recommends changes in policies and procedures.

  • Stays current with industry-standard development tools, processes, and computing patterns and practices; participates in educational opportunities; seeks and provides guidance and peer-review.

  • Provides insights and metrics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

  • Collaborates with internal teams on release management activities, and with external teams for planning and rolling out deployments to staging and production systems.

  • Refactors baseline architecture to cope with challenges such as growing data, increased number of users, and cybersecurity.

  • Leverages cloud-computing services, patterns, and practices to ensure performance, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.

  • Tracks issues over multiple distributed components, identifies root cause, implements and documents solution in agreement with stakeholders.

  • Leads and mentors team members in following best practices to deliver high quality software.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

  • 5+yrs experience and solid grasp of software architectures and design patterns and practices

  • 5+yrs experience and mastery of several programming languages and frameworks, covering the full stack (such as SQL, Rails, C#, Java, Angular, JavaScript, etc.)

  • 5+yrs and working knowledge of general database principles and preferable experience in MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.

  • Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems, and Docker containers.

  • Experience with cloud-based architectures and patterns, such as AWS and Azure.

  • Automation toolsets such as Git flows, CI/CD, unit-testing, UI testing, static vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, etc.

  • Time management and prioritization of work/deliverables.

  • Self-motivated, work independently and in a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Cross-team collaboration, ability to coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables and priorities are well-aligned.

Pay Range: $140K to $200K/yr

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
