MMI currently have an opportunity available in our Bangor, ME office for a Representative Payee Caseworker (Customer Service / Social Work). This is a work from home position.

What will you do as a Caseworker?
The Representative Payee Caseworker maintains a caseload of clients, determining how to spend benefits to ensure that the basic current needs of food, shelter, clothing, and medical care are met while saving any leftover funds for the beneficiary's future use. You will work with clients over the phone and occasionally in person to assist them with their needs. You will also do administrative tasks such as completing reports and documenting files. The position requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- High School diploma or GED; college degree in social work or similar field a plus.
- Two years' experience in office setting or customer service.
- Experience with and passion for working with people with mental and physical disabilities.
- Experience with federal and state social service program guidelines and requirements (Medicaid, SNAP, Social Security, and/or Veteran's Affairs) a plus.

Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail. Must be able to work with challenging clients. Strong computer and phone skills needed. This is a work from home position. Must have high speed internet (cannot be sattelite). Must be located within Penoscot County in ME. Will require going to the local post office to collect mail in Penoscot County.
