Creator Team Product Designer

We’re looking for a product designer to join our Creators team and help shape the experience for the people who build the worlds, avatars, and systems that make VRChat come alive. You'll work alongside a senior design lead to improve and expand the tools, workflows, and interfaces that support creators—from onboarding and content management to publishing, monetization, and community building.
If you're energized by designing for creators, crafting UX that bridges technical complexity and expressive power, and supporting a global ecosystem of artists and developers, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with your design lead, PMs, and engineers to improve core creator workflows, including content upload, management, publishing, and monetization.
Design intuitive interfaces that support creators with varying levels of technical expertise—from hobbyists to professional developers.
Translate technical concepts into approachable UX through thoughtful flows, clear visual hierarchy, and user-friendly microcopy.
Pair with the community and support teams to understand creator pain points and use those insights to improve tool usability and reduce friction.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and polished mockups across platforms (web, desktop, mobile), with an eye toward accessibility and responsiveness.
Collaborate with the design systems team to ensure visual and interaction consistency across the creator experience.
Help define the user experience for new creator-focused features—from experimental publishing tools to scalable monetization programs.
Contribute to early discovery and testing of new tools, including interviews, journey mapping, and usability testing.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
You have 3+ years of professional product design experience and have worked on shipping experiences, ideally for tools, platforms, or creator workflow-heavy products.
You have strong UX instincts and know how to simplify complexity without sacrificing capability or clarity.
You think in flows and systems—understanding how tools fit into broader user journeys and product ecosystems.
You’re comfortable working in Figma and collaborating with engineering to bring your designs to life.
You bring curiosity to technical topics, and you're excited to work with creators who use Unity, Udon, SDKs, and other dev tools.
You’re a proactive collaborator. You listen well, give clear feedback, and are energized by working closely with other designers.
You care about empowering users, and you're motivated by building tools that support creativity, expression, and economic opportunity.
Bonus Points
Understanding of trust, safety, or moderation systems that support healthy online interactions.
Familiarity with social VR, presence-based UX, or designing for avatar-based expression.
Experience working on cross-platform design (desktop, mobile, VR headsets).
Passion for online communities, emergent social behavior, or the sociology of digital spaces.
