Job Description
Bring bold ideas to life and elevate design standards in education. Keypath Education is seeking a visionary Creative and Design Lead to champion brand excellence and lead a high-performing design team. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on creativity, driving compelling, student-centred design across digital, print, UX, and motion.
Key Accountabilities
Brand Guardianship & Design Excellence:
Be the brand guardian for Keypath Education and its university partners, ensuring all marketing outputs deliver creative excellence, are aligned with partner guidelines and achieve channel objectives.
Translate marketing strategy. student value propositions and creative platforms into compelling, student-centred designs that connects emotionally and drives action.
Champion best-practice design principles across all channels and formats—social, digital, print, UX, and motion.
Push creative boundaries to elevate design standards within the education sector.
Design Leadership and Team Development:
Lead, coach, and inspire a team of in-house graphic and UX designers, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence and collaboration.
Provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to grow design capability across the team.
Allocate resources effectively to balance BAU requirements with high-impact strategic projects.
Lead by example as a “player-coach”—stepping in to design key projects or support the team during peak periods.
Design Workflow Optimisation:
Ability to be able to work simultaneously across multiple brand identities and remain on-brand
Design chapter lead who leans into complex design projects to ensure the briefs are clear and work is sequenced correctly to ensure a smooth delivery
Establish and maintain design standards, templates, and guidelines to drive consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Manage design systems, asset libraries, and production processes to enable scalability and efficiency.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner closely with the Content Manager, Content Producers, Marketers, and Digital teams to ensure creative solutions are audience-led and aligned to campaign objectives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality creative that inspires and engages students.
Confidently present creative concepts and articulate design decisions to stakeholders, building trust and influence.
Innovation & Operations:
Actively explore design trends, AI technologies, and platforms to ensure creative output is modern, competitively differentiated, and is delivered in an efficient way
Introduce new ideas, formats, and tools to enhance creative outputs, efficiencies and student engagement
Foster a culture of test-and-learn within the design team—using performance insights to refine creative approaches.
Qualifications
Experience:
Tertiary qualification in Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
Minimum 7+ years as a senior designer or design manager, within marketing, creative services, or agency environments, ideally for service based industries
Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring design teams, with a track record of building creative capability.
Strong portfolio showcasing a breadth of design work across digital, print, UX, and motion.
Proven experience building or elevating a company’s visual identity, style guide, and brand systems.
Experience translating marketing strategies and value propositions into compelling creative executions that deliver measurable outcomes.
Background in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments with competing priorities.
Technicial:
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma - able to design everything from social posts to websites and collateral.
Expert knowledge of design principles across digital, social, print, and motion.
Understanding of UX best practice and designing for digital customer journeys.
Experience with video editing, animation, and motion graphics.
Excellent presentation and communication skills—able to confidently explain design rationale to stakeholders.
Special Requirments:
Attendance at on-campus or in-person meetings as required
Willingness to travel interstate for any of the above as required
