FULLY REMOTE BASED POSITION.
ANNUAL BASE SALARY, $100,000 - $150,000 USD + BONUS + OPTIONS

Position Overview
As an early member of the Claims team, the Claims Counsel plays a critical role within the Embroker Insurance group by providing key feedback on claim systems and processes. This position manages a variety of EPL, D&O, Cyber, E&O, Crime and Fiduciary claims with a focus on Cyber and Tech E&O losses, and conducts detailed coverage analysis and critical claim management to drive cost effective and timely resolutions while providing first-in-class service to our policyholders. This position also closely collaborates with Claims and Insurance team leadership, and internal data, actuarial, and distribution teams.
Responsibilities:
Complete accurate and timely claim investigations into coverage, liability, and damages
Proactively manage pending claim to drive timely and cost-effective resolutions
Proactively evaluate potential exposure on assigned claims to recommend and set appropriate reserves and thereafter manage regular review of case reserves for accuracy
Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, policy holders, underwriters, data and actuarial teams, and carrier partners
Direct and actively monitor assignments to outside counsel, experts, and other panel vendors
Actively participate in settlement negotiations including virtual or in-person attendance at private mediations and court ordered settlement conferences
Support data collection efforts by effectively capturing relevant data in claim management software
Identify and escalate insights into emerging claims trends across industries, geographies, and key business segments
Offer user-level feedback and insights to support eh continuous improvement of our claim handling processes, guidelines and systems
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. from an accredited law school preferred
5+years professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience litigating or managing professional liability claims, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience managing Cyber and/or Tech E&O claims desirable
Must possess required state claim adjuster license
Proven ability to work both independently on complex matters and collaboratively as a team player to assist others as needed
High level of personal initiative and leadership skills; prior experience managing a team preferred
Exceptional time management, problem solving and organizational skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to travel to mediations, trials, etc. as necessary (10 - 15%)
Ability to work cross culturally on a global team
Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment
