Job Description
THE POSITION:
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development, the Business Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in securing outbound meetings and generating new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and biopharmaceutical sectors. Ideal candidates will possess a positive attitude, demonstrate diligence in cold outreach, and exhibit enthusiasm for engaging and securing new prospective clients. This role will maintain consistent warm and cold outreach through sales engagement technology, across email, phone, voicemail, and LinkedIn outreach. This individual will maintain a current prospect list and consistently find new relevant prospects using current technology. Success will be defined by new meetings generated for senior leadership to support the strategic growth of the company. This individual will have a high degree of collaboration with colleagues across the globe in various positions of leadership. This role has excellent exposure within a matrix organization and opportunity for growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:
Partner with SVP, Business Development to identify target prospects
Reach, educate, and influence existing or prospective life science clients to consider engaging EVERSANA’s RWE, HEOR, Data & Analytics services
Secure future meetings for subject matter experts by leading the initial outreach strategies via written and verbal communication grounded in strategic messaging, targeting and segmentation exercises
Manage all outbound activities, including cold calls/emails and outbound campaigns, with contacts at large, mid and emerging pharmaceutical companies to generate qualified leads
Consistent research and participation in internal training to ensure understanding of customer needs and requirements
Writing relevant and captivating emails that open conversations with prospects (see preferred qualifications below)
Generate new business opportunities and book qualified appointments and capabilities presentations for SVP, Business Development
Follow-up, qualify, engage, and report on leads
Maintain awareness of industry trends and connect to EVERSANA’s value prop to drive interest among buyers
Stay informed about market trends, competition, and industry developments as well as new emerging outbound sales tactics
Provide regular reports on sales activities to management
Meeting monthly/quarterly metrics and targets
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
Experience and/or Training
2-3 years of inside or outbound sales experience in the pharma/life sciences sector
Results orientation and initiative, self-appraisal, and continuous learning mindset.
Networking and rapport-building skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of market trends and market access issues affecting pharmaceuticDal companies.
Strong organization, planning, and time/project management skills.
Excellent written and presentation skills.
Must be a team player and be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the company.
Ability to lead, engage, and influence others – persuades, convinces, or influences others to change their viewpoint or accept a desired course of action
Technology/Equipment
Intermediate to expert ability using Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce.com, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
Experience using High Velocity Sales (Sales Engagement), Drift, DocuSign
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and/or Training
3+ Years of inside / outbound sales experience in the pharma/life science sector
Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Sandler Sales Training, SPIN Selling, Challenger Sale, or similar.
Knowledge of market research and lead generation techniques.
Ability to craft persuasive and engaging marketing messages.
Proficiency in writing with a clear and compelling 'hook' to capture attention and drive high response rates.
Expertise in creating targeted messaging that resonates with specific audience segments.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The physical and mental requirements along with the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
Office: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $54,000 to $60,500 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time.
