Business Development Representative
The Role
We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to kick-start our Sydney office and drive new business across Australia and the broader APAC region. This role is foundational to our regional growth strategy and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact as one of the first sales hires on the ground.
You’ll focus on prospecting and building relationships across a wide array of industries, helping to bring Telnyx’s voice, messaging, wireless, and networking products to new markets. If you're eager to learn, hungry to sell, and energized by the opportunity to shape a new market, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Prospect Like a Pro: Source and qualify new sales opportunities via outbound calls, emails, and social outreach across APAC.
Be the First Touch: Initiate contact with potential customers and build strong early-stage relationships that lead to meetings and pipeline.
Pitch With Purpose: Understand customer needs and clearly articulate how Telnyx solves real problems with cutting-edge technology.
Partner With AEs: Schedule qualified meetings with Account Executives and collaborate on strategy to accelerate the sales cycle.
Stay Organized: Log activity and insights into our CRM (Salesforce) to maintain pipeline visibility and drive conversion.
Grow Your Knowledge: Learn about our product suite and the competitive landscape so you can speak with confidence and authority.
Shape Our Strategy: Contribute to the refinement of messaging, outreach tactics, and market positioning as we grow in the APAC region.
What We’re Looking For
1–2 years of experience in outbound sales, lead generation, or business development (SaaS or telecom experience a big plus).
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Confidence and presence on the phone—you're persuasive, curious, and comfortable navigating conversations at all levels of seniority.
Startup mindset—you're resourceful, adaptable, and energized by change.
Organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing a pipeline and working within a CRM like Salesforce.
Tech-savvy and eager to learn, especially when it comes to APIs, connectivity, and modern comms infrastructure.
Fluency in English required; other APAC languages are a plus.
