Brand Strategy Lead

The Community You Will Join:  

The Brand Strategy Lead will report to the Director of Brand Strategy, and will be responsible for collaboratively shaping the vision for our brand and how our marketing campaigns, product launches and other communications contribute to shifting perception and driving growth. They will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Advertising, Marcom, Regional Marketing Directors, Consumer Insights, Media and Creative to define the insights and messages that will shape our external narrative.

They are skilled at bringing a consumer’s point of view to decision making and driving alignment across teams. They like working on fast-moving teams, thrive amid ambiguity, and are equally motivated by the three-year narrative and the three-weeks in front of them.

A Typical Day:

  • Works with the Director of Brand Strategy to anticipate where the brand should move in the next 3-5 years

  • Develops and writes creatively inspiring briefs to inform the development of advertising in both traditional and new media 

  • Synthesizes research and data into creatively inspiring insights to drive campaign development

  • Helps define new product positioning using data-driven insights, and collaborates with the Brand Strategy Director and leaders from Marketing, Creative and Product to define go-to-market strategies 

  • Partner with creative teams throughout creative development of global campaigns or product launches, ensuring the work is strategic, simple and effective 

Your Expertise:

  • Passion for Airbnb and travel. Experience hosting on the site is a huge plus. 

  • 10+ years relevant experience leading strategy client side or at creative agencies with preference for experience in the consumer internet: travel, design, technology, or lifestyle brands

  • An integrated marketing mindset, passion for creative excellence in storytelling, across media channels

  • Strong understanding of how campaigns and product launches contribute to building a resonant brand

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous and complex problems, and find creative solutions that have broad impact on the business

  • Excellent written and oral communication, a keen visual sense and attention to detail and a quick wit.

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives

  • Natural collaboration and bridge-building skills

  • Experience working with research and insights teams and strong analytic / quantitative skills

  • A simplifier above all else.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
