Job Description
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand multi-team administrative requirements and designing scalable solutions • Being a mentor and example to more junior engineers on the team • Delivering great user experience to administrators by ideating and confirming tech feasibility of solutions to manage large-scale enterprises • Leading continuous improvement efforts within your team • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to the team’s domain, including participation in the on-call rotation • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices to innovate and improve the domain owned by the team
You're probably a match if:
• You have experience writing production code in Java • You follow disciplined coding practices and are experienced with code reviews and pull requests – you're someone who models best practice • You have strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal • You approach engineering by first understanding the problem and then crafting the solution • Experience with protocol buffers, AWS (like DynamoDB, SNS/SQS) is a bonus
