PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Archbow Consulting is seeking an individual with significant, real-world, proposal and Statement of Work writing experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry to aid in the growth of the organization. The Associate Director will be primarily responsible for responding to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and writing Statements of Work (SOW) as related to the Archbow's consulting business including but perhaps not limited to dispensing, distribution, and patient support services. This individual will interface with company leadership and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop RFP and SOW content that resonates with potential customers within pharma, biotech, cell and gene therapy, and other targeted companies. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales. This position is remote. Success in this job requires an individual who can provide hands-on, day-to-day writing support, delivery of vital written documents that will advance a sales driven company, and a high-level of organization, self-motivation, and collaboration.
MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:
- Apply a working knowledge of the commercial pharmaceutical industry and market, including wholesale, distribution, specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, and patient support services, to develop written content to assist in securing business
- Develop and utilize an RFP and SOW library to facilitate the process of securing incremental business
- Leverage a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market to assure Archbow is seen as a top consultancy
- Occasionally participate in and contribute to client-facing engagements, including meetings, workshops, and presentations, both virtually and in-person where needed
- Occasionally support business development efforts through proposal and presentation generation
- Conduct market research on Archbow's competition to better understand how Archbow can compete at a high level
- Provide acute attention to detail and high-quality outputs; apply superior writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Expand industry knowledge proactively through independent research, following relevant news publications, and application of work experience
- Conduct research and write RFP responses and SOWs in a professional and credible manner
- Conduct internal interviews with Archbow SMEs to create SOW and RFP templates
- Review products, services, and/or new business ideas to support the ongoing growth of Archbow
- Attend sales meetings and identify opportunities to support the business through proposal/SOW writing
- Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines
- Edit and revise proposals/SOWs according to feedback
- Maintain consistency in proposal writing by following company policies
- Work with the marketing team to create graphics and visuals for projects
- Demonstrate professional behavior, both internally with colleagues and externally with clients and other industry partners
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
- Complete other duties as assigned by company leadership
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Real-world pharmaceutical industry experience with 3-5 years' experience writing SOWs and RFPs to pharma and biotech companies
- Ability to prioritize and manage complex projects with competing deadlines
- Able to work independently
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills required
- Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills
- Active listening
- Creative thinking
- Superior writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Solutions-oriented
- Attention to detail with strong research capabilities
- Organization skills - ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and projects to meet deadlines
