Job Description

Nearpod is currently experiencing rapid growth, and we are seeking an AR/Sales Tax Specialist to join the accounting team. You will be working closely with the Accounting Manager on the collection of sales tax exemption certificates, set-up and maintenance in Avalara and CertCapture and other billing/collections related tasks.

Our Ideal Candidate will:

• Follow-up with customers to acquire the appropriate exemption certificates

• Load and map these certificates in CertCapture for new customers and any historical customers missing certificates

• Prepare monthly reconciliations of billing data to sales tax return data in Avalara

• Upload any B2C sales data to the Avalara return preparation tool that doesn’t automatically interface

• Provide sales tax support/guidance to sales, billing and collections groups as needed

• Assist with customer collections activity as requested

• Assist with customer billing as needed

• Respond to customer questions related to sales tax and billing information

• Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting; OR equivalent combination of education and experience

• NetSuite or similar ERP system experience

• Sophisticated Excel skills a must

• Strong written and oral communication skills required

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

Salary Range: $42,200 - $57,950 

This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
