Role Overview

As an Alignerr Billing Specialist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related questions from Alignerrs (our global contractor workforce). You will handle billing inquiries across multiple regions, ensuring that payments are accurate, clear, and timely. Your work will directly impact the satisfaction and trust of our Alignerr community around the world. Success in this position depends on strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with sensitive financial data across time zones and currencies.

This role is based in India (Remote), and must be flexible to cover a portion of US/EMEA business hours as needed.

Your Impact

  • Billing Support: Monitor and respond to billing-related inquiries from Alignerrs via Intercom, Slack, and email.

  • Issue Investigation: Review labeling logs, project data, and payment reports to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.

  • Finance Collaboration: Work closely with internal finance and operations teams to coordinate payment corrections and special cases.

  • Payment Adjustments: Submit, track, and confirm adjustments for underpayments, overpayments, or missed payments.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate case logs, resolution notes, and billing communication records.

  • Reporting: Produce regular reports on billing issues, common trends, and resolution metrics for internal review.

  • Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve billing workflows and contractor-facing FAQs.

  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all billing actions align with global contractor policies, legal standards, and privacy requirements.

  • Escalation Handling: Escalate urgent or complex billing issues appropriately within operations and finance teams.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years experience in billing support, contractor payments, customer support for financial inquiries, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of payment processes, contractor invoicing, and basic financial systems.

  • Excellent written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain billing matters clearly and professionally.

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.

  • Experience using customer support tools like Intercom, Zendesk, Salesforce, Retool, or similar.

  • Comfortable working across multiple currencies, time zones, and international contractor payment setups.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with a global contractor/freelancer workforce.

  • Knowledge of contractor payment practices in multiple countries (e.g., India, US, LATAM, EMEA).

  • Familiarity with Alignerr, Labelbox, or data-labeling platforms.

  • Basic knowledge of payment platforms (e.g., Payoneer, Wise, Deel).

Support at Labelbox

At Labelbox Support, you'll ensure the success of frontier AI labs and enterprises using our data factory infrastructure. You'll provide expert guidance on our Enterprise Platform, Frontier Data Labeling, and Expert Marketplace offerings, helping customers overcome technical challenges in their AI data pipelines. With our platform processing 50+ million annotations monthly, you'll develop deep technical expertise across multimodal, reasoning, coding, and multilingual use cases. Your timely, knowledgeable assistance will directly impact customer satisfaction and project outcomes, ensuring maximum value from human-in-the-loop processes.
