Accounts Receivable Manager
Role Overview
We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Manager based in India to own the global A/R function. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the order-to-cash cycle—from invoicing to collections—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a world-class customer billing experience. You’ll manage a small team (including A/R Specialists), collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, RevOps, Legal, and Customer Success), and help scale our A/R operations to support our growing SaaS business.
Your Impact
Own and manage the full accounts receivable lifecycle: billing, collections, cash application, dispute resolution, and reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for SaaS contracts, renewals, and usage-based charges.
Oversee A/R aging reports and proactively manage collections and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
Manage customer communications around payment issues, credit memos, or billing disputes professionally and effectively.
Support global revenue recognition by ensuring accurate timing, documentation, and compliance.
Collaborate with RevOps, Sales, and Legal to align on customer contract terms, billing structure, and collection strategy.
Optimize A/R tools, automation, and processes (e.g., NetSuite, Chargebee, Stripe) for scale and efficiency.
Provide regular reporting and KPIs (DSO, aging buckets, collection efficiency) to finance leadership.
Ensure audit readiness and maintain proper documentation and controls.
Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of A/R professionals.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong understanding of SaaS billing models (subscription, usage-based, freemium upgrades) and revenue cycle.
Proficiency in accounting and billing tools such as NetSuite, Chargebee, Stripe, or similar platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with global customers and internal stakeholders.
Proven track record of improving A/R operations through automation, reporting, or process enhancements.
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment across time zones.
Bonus Points
Experience with ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition.
Familiarity with global taxation and invoicing requirements (e.g., VAT, GST, TDS).
Experience working with enterprise customers and large contract billing cycles.
Exposure to CRM tools like Salesforce.
