Accountant
Accountant role at GuidePoint Security LLC (‘GuidePoint’) has the responsibility for moderately complex accounting activities related to the preparation of the Company’s financial statements, utilizing independent judgment and discretion. This position performs various general ledger account analyses and reconciliations.
This position will report to and support the Assistant Controller to ensure transactions are accurate and financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Accountant will assist with the development and adherence to internal control policies.
Job Description
Performs moderately complex financial statement closing procedures, journal entries, and account analyses and reconciliations, ensuring the activity and balances are adequately documented and substantiated;
Administration of customer and vendor rebate programs, including calculations, accruals, eligibility, and ensuring timely issuance or receipt of rebate credits/funding;
Ensures that accounting transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger and that affected accounts are reconciled;
Researches and recommends solutions to accounting transactions, variances, discrepancies, and reconciling items, ensuring resolution is timely and complete;
Develop process and maintenance of month-end accruals as needed;
Assists with various internal and external reporting packages;
Develop, maintain and improve processes and controls associated to general ledger and financial statement closing procedures;
End-to-end processing of customer and vendor rebate programs, including tracking accruals, validating eligibility, calculating rebate amounts, and ensuring timely payments or credits;
Perform daily cash reconciliations across multiple bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of internal financial records against bank statements;
Work with leadership as needed on ad hoc reports as well as help reconcile financial reports between various systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce and Certinia;

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required, or equivalent in work experience
3-5 years demonstrated experience working in general accounting, reporting, and cross team collaboration.
Excellent communication, analytical and reasoning skills with a high confidence in stating professional opinions required
Knowledge of ERP and accounting systems; experience with NetSuite ERP and Salesforce is highly desirable
Process design and development experience preferred
Attention to detail is a must
Possesses the ability to self-manage and adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected shifts in priorities while maintaining focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex business processes
