Technical Recruiter - Data Science
We’re expanding our recruiting team to help bring on exceptional data scientists, machine-learning experts, research scientists, analysts, and technical leaders who will impact every corner of the business. We’re looking for a recruiter who is passionate about finding, engaging, and closing world-class data science talent — someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and loves building strong partnerships with hiring managers.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Own full-cycle recruiting for science & data engineering roles, managing everything from sourcing strategy to closing for both IC & Manager roles
Partner directly with leaders to understand hiring needs and build effective search strategies
Create compelling, personalized outreach to engage passive candidates across data and research communities, in particular at senior and staff levels
Build and maintain healthy, forward-looking pipelines for high-priority and evergreen roles
Provide an exceptional, consistent candidate experience throughout the interview process
Influence and refine interview loops, evaluation rubrics, and hiring processes to ensure they are fair, efficient, and aligned with Figma’s values
Communicate market insights, pipeline data, and recruiting trends to cross-functional partners
Collaborate closely with other recruiters and recruiting ops to continuously improve team workflows, systems, and experimentation
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
4+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience, with at least 2+ years focused on data/applied-science or ML/AI hiring
Proven track record of independently sourcing, engaging, and closing candidates in competitive technical markets
Deep familiarity with the data-science and applied-research ecosystem — tools, skill sets, communities, and evaluation approaches
Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder hiring processes
Strong communication and storytelling skills—particularly in explaining role impact, team vision, and product context
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Prior experience hiring technical talent in a high-growth environment
Knowledge of ATS/CRM tools like Greenhouse, Gem, or equivalent
Experience hiring analytics, research-science or hybrid data/engineering profiles
Familiarity with Figma or similar design and collaboration platforms
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
