At Nova Credit, we’re on a mission to power global financial inclusion, building a unified platform for credit and financial data that has a meaningful impact on lives. Our software engineers develop innovative solutions that incorporate data integrations and advanced analytics into seamless user experiences, transforming diverse data into actionable risk insights.

Join us to help unlock economic opportunities for consumers who have been historically excluded from traditional credit systems. We foster a dynamic, inclusive environment that values diversity, intellectual honesty, and innovation, and are committed to supporting your professional growth.

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC4) to lead key technical projects from design to delivery, drive the implementation of scalable and robust solutions across our products, and contribute to our technical roadmap while mentoring junior engineers.

Your Profile & Expertise:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in high-growth or early-stage startups.

  • Strong expertise with technologies and tools related to our tech stack (Node.js, React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS).

  • Proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to independently navigate and resolve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong collaborator and communicator, effectively bridging gaps between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Contributions & Impact:

  • Designing and building enterprise-grade APIs and platform-level features (web and mobile).

  • Driving the expansion of design systems to unify UI/UX across consumer and customer-facing products.

  • Leading the implementation and launch of new integrations with key data suppliers.

  • Developing and productizing advanced data models to effectively deploy new attributes and scores.

  • Advancing architectural enhancements to support new product use cases and ensure platform scalability.

IN THE FIRST MONTH, YOU'LL:

  • Quickly grasp our business model, product offerings, and customer value proposition.

  • Integrate seamlessly with the team, understanding our working style, mission, and values.

  • Familiarize yourself with our software development lifecycle and technical strategy.

  • Land your “new hire” ticket in the first week, and contribute to at least one key roadmap feature in the first month.

IN THE FIRST QUARTER, YOU'LL:

  • Develop a clear understanding of how engineering decisions strategically impact our business and products.

  • Proactively collaborate with engineering, product, design, and other partner teams to drive alignment.

  • Lead significant technical initiatives, taking end-to-end ownership from design through delivery.

  • Consistently participate and make impactful contributions across team norms (e.g., project planning, thorough code reviews, QA, on-call rotation).

  • Deepen knowledge of critical product artifacts and proactively identify opportunities for technical improvement.

IN THE FIRST YEAR, YOU'LL:

  • Become a trusted subject matter expert within your product vertical, comfortable translating product requirements into technical designs.

  • Lead and successfully deliver complex features end-to-end, translating ambiguity into actionable technical milestones.

  • Influence technical decisions and direction of your team's roadmap.

  • Strengthen our engineering culture by regularly mentoring junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing.

  • Champion best practices and propose technical enhancements that improve the scalability or maintainability of our product platform.

204,000 - 234,900 USD/year

The above compensation ranges are dependent on individual experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications. We consider all elements of compensation to be a part of the value we provide to Novans. This may include base salary, equity grants, incentive compensation for eligible roles, professional development, flexible PTO, and tenure rewards.
