Company Description

At Xplor, we're the technology and product behind international customer experiences. With an expectation for high-performance, we don't shy away from rolling our sleeves up to make progress with focus and speed. Driven by this ambition, and a sense of accountability, we're not afraid to take risks, dive into change, and expect more from ourselves and others. And whilst we've a bold desire to win, we remain humble - bringing positive energy and always treating each other with respect.

We're building software that powers everyday life from childcare drop-offs to gym sessions, home repairs to personal services. Our platform helps over 75,000 businesses across 140+ countries succeed, processing billions in payments and creating seamless experiences for millions of people worldwide.

Job Description

About the opportunity

We're seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join our Product Engineering team, focusing on our Education platform. You'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining high-performance mobile applications that help educators across multiple countries deliver exceptional educational experiences. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll craft intuitive, secure, and scalable solutions that make a real difference in the education sector.

What You'll be Doing

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you'll create visually stunning, high-performance mobile experiences that educators and parents rely on every day: Some of the other responsibilities you'll have:

  • Build and ship production-ready features across iOS (and Android) with our dedicated mobile team

  • Own the full lifecycle — from concept and architecture through to delivery and post-launch support

  • Champion quality through code reviews, unit testing, and best practice standards that keep our apps secure, fast, and reliable

  • Collaborate across locations with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to solve real problems for real users

  • Lead and mentor other engineers, influencing technical direction and elevating the entire team

  • Move with focus and speed — taking a proactive, hands-on approach in every sprint

Location: Remote within Australia, with a preference for Melbourne-based candidates and full Australian working rights.

Qualifications

What You'll bring

We're looking for Senior iOS Engineers who care deeply about craft and impact. Developers who don't just write code but build experiences that educators genuinely love to use. You're someone who balances technical excellence with empathy, understanding that behind every feature is a teacher trying to spend more time with children and less time on paperwork. You're motivated by seeing your work make a real difference in people's daily lives.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Swift, including concurrency, memory management, CoreData, and performance optimization

  • Production experience with SwiftUI and integrating it into UIKit-based codebases

  • Strong knowledge of iOS frameworks, Auto Layout, and architectural patterns (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture)

  • End-to-end mobile development experience from architecture and design through to App Store deployment

  • Proven experience with testing practices and CI/CD pipelines (XCTest, Bitrise, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions)

  • Track record of mentoring engineers, performing code reviews, and contributing to technical strategy

  • Experience delivering large-scale iOS applications with strong understanding of UI/UX principles

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - comfortable working with distributed teams across locations and time zones

Bonus Points

  • Cross-platform knowledge (Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile, Flutter)

  • GraphQL and modern API integration expertise

  • Experience with monitoring tools (Firebase, Sentry, New Relic)
